Hearing Loss Web is
dedicated to people who have hearing loss, but are not
members of the traditional Deaf community. This includes people who
consider themselves to be hearing impaired, hard of hearing, late deafened, and oral
deaf. We provide information on issues,
medical topics, resources,
and technology, and events
related
to hearing loss. |

Relay Services and HOH Folks: Why Don't They
Want to Serve You? |
|
Video Relay
provides functionally equivalent telephone service for the signing
community, but the relay services for the HOH community aren't
nearly as elegant, despite the relative ease with which they could
be provided? Have you ever wondered why that is? |

Our
Mission |
|
Hard of hearing, late deafened, and oral deaf Americans are
unrecognized and underserved. They have not been successful at educating
the public concerning their situation or at getting their needs met.
This website will focus on changing that reality.
Our goals are:
1) To provide resources to assist the hard of hearing, late deafened,
and oral deaf population to fully participate in mainstream American
society
2) To educate members of the hearing world about our hard of hearing,
late deafened, and oral deaf population |
