Pa organization's job announcement ignores different hearing loss identities

In this situation, a service organization called Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Services of Lancaster County, Pa is looking for a case manager. The job description discusses the functions that apply to the deaf and hard of hearing community (including the 95% of the community who are not Culturally Deaf and do not use sign language. The qualifications, however, focus on accommodating the needs of the Culturally Deaf and fail to even mention the hard of hearing, late deafened, and oral deaf members or their needs. Read their Employment Notice.

An inquiry letter was sent to this agency. The letter points out these apparent incongruities and asks for their comments.

Here is Mr. Schneck's Response.
