My CueTutor Brings Cued Speech to the Internet!

October 2009

Editor: I often hear from folks who are interested in learning Cued Speech, but don't have a local resource available to them. So I'm happy to see that the folks at Cued Speech for Integrated Communication have made these resources available.

My CueTutor is a new electronic service of Cued Speech for Integrated Communication, Inc. My CueTutor provides personal long-distance Cued Speech instruction, tutorials, guidance and support for professionals, families, and individuals with hearing loss. Each CueTutor has earned instructor certification through the National Cued Speech Association.

Subscribers to the service receive what they need when they need it, by their choice of interactions. Contact options include telephone, email, instant messaging, video and webcam. Sessions can be as short as a few minutes or as long as 90 minutes.

Contents of a session can be about how to cue or how to apply Cued Speech in the family, clinic, school or society. CueTutors are prepared to answer questions about "how do you cue..", check cueing accuracy and form, provide conversational practice, and assist in preparation for a cueing proficiency test. They also are prepared to guide the introduction of Cued Speech to children and their development of spoken language.

For those beginning to learn Cued Speech, the program alternates contact with an assigned CueTutor and the subscriber's learning independently with one of the available multi-media programs. More information is available at www.CuedSpeech.com, info@cuedspeech.com and 877-283-2030.

Cued Speech for Integrated Communication, Inc. is dedicated to enabling individuals with hearing, language and speech needs to have complete communication experiences with family, friends and colleagues.
