I love PhoneCaption!  First, please know that is a service for the hard of hearing -- not the Deaf.  Operators transcribe the HEARING person speaking during the conversation for the HARD OF HEARING PERSON.  The really great thing about this service is that it is FREE TO JOIN!  Go to www.phonecaption.com and click "Sign Up Now."  It's simple! After you sign up, you get your own 800-number.  You can make AND receive calls.  Texts can appear on your MAC or PC, PDA device, blackberry, or Cisco IP Phone!  It's totally worth it, guys!  I make so many more calls now.  It's nice to communicate away from email and have REAL conversations!

Phone Caption is a federally funded, completely free telephone service that captions text on phone calls for individuals who are hard of hearing or have some degree of hearing loss.

It provides a verbatim readable versionof what is being said, making hearing loss during phone conversations no longer a problem.  The text canappear on your MAC, Pc, PDA, mobile blackberry or Cisco IP phone. This is a convenient service, that is certain to improve the quality of your communication.
