pain at the cochear implant site

Hi, My daughter who is 19 has had her cochlear impants for several years.  Recently, she has been having stinging/pain where the magnet is.  I think it might be due to the fact that she wears 1 side or the other side each night when she is away at college.  Has this every happened to anyone and if so, what did you do to fix it.  I spoke with the audiologist and she said she can't wear them anymore at night, but what should we do in the meantime.  Thanks.
