Welcome!

Hearing Loss Web is
dedicated to people who have hearing loss, but are not
members of the traditional Deaf community. This includes people who
consider themselves to be hearing impaired, hard of hearing, late deafened, and oral
deaf. We provide information on issues,
medical topics, resources,
and technology
related
to hearing loss. |

What's
HOT! |

Interested in our perceptions of the current trends in the hearing
loss world! We read many of the email lists, subscribe to lots of
publications, and attend conventions every year. So we think we have a
pretty good pulse on what's going on! Here are our thoughts on current
trends: |

Forums, Chats,
and Comments on HLNews.net |
|
We've tried a couple
of times to add some more interactive features to this site, but
haven't had a lot of success. So we decided to start a new site
that incorporated these features from the beginning. We're still
adding and tweaking, but a lot of the functionality is there,
including forums, chats, and comments. So click on over to
HLNews.net and let us hear
from you! |

Our Discussion
Forum is Reborn! |
|
You may recall that
we had to close our Discussion Forum because the spammers took
it over. We've created a new Forum on a new site and running
with new software that we think will allow us to virtually
eliminate spam. To see what folks are discussing or to participate
yourself, visit our Discussion Forum

hearing, late deafened, or oral deaf people who REALLY understand a situation that has us upset, or someone who can
tell us how she successfully resolved our current problem.

Our
Mission |
|
Hard of hearing, late deafened, and oral deaf Americans are
unrecognized and underserved. They have not been successful at educating
the public concerning their situation or at getting their needs met.
This website will focus on changing that reality.
Our goals are:
1) To provide resources to assist the hard of hearing, late deafened,
and oral deaf population to fully participate in mainstream American
society
2) To educate members of the hearing world about our hard of hearing,
late deafened, and oral deaf population |
