Transition Coordinator

Idaho School for the Deaf and the Blind

Begin Date: March 2008
Closing Date: Open until filled.

Nature of Work: To Coordinate the post Secondary Transition Program (P.S.T.P.). To collaborate with Community agencies, employers, and education institutions to provide access for Deaf/ Hard of Hearing (DHH), Blind/Visually impaired (BVI), and Deaf/Blind including individuals with additional handicapping conditions. To facilitate an individual's transition from dependence to independence. To coordinate the students, communities, and opportunities partnering for employment (S.C.O.P.E.) summer work experience program to support a student's career pathway goals on his/her transition plan.

Location: Boise Area.

Minimum Qualifications: Idaho Exceptional Child certificate with Hearing Impaired endorsement; Excellent receptive and expressive skills in American Sign Language; Experience working with Parents and infants; Minimum of Bachelor's Degree, Master's degree preferred

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.

Benefits: Comprehensive fringe benefit package included; Employees and spouses receive reduced tuition at state universities ($5 per credit hour).
