The mission of the EEOC,
as set forth in its strategic plan, is to promote equal opportunity in
employment through administrative and judicial enforcement of the
federal civil rights laws and through education and technical
assistance.
The EEOC deals with issues related to Title I (Employment) of
the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
June
2000 - The EEOC ruled that the use of assistive devices must
be considered in determining whether or not a person is disabled.
This ruling directly contradicts their previous ruling.
