Self Help for the Hard of Hearing (SHHH) National Day of Hearing Testing

The first annual SHHH National Day of Hearing Testing was held on May 6th, 2000. The goal was to increase hearing loss awareness among the general public. A secondary goal was to provide hearing screenings for twenty thousand people on that one day.  

For the year 2002, the National Day of Hearing Screening will occur in October; in fact, it looks like it will take place during the entire month, rather than on a single day. SHHH local and state organizations are arranging for free hearing evaluations from local hearing professionals.
